well…I sure hope she doesn’t “completely” turn out to be like Martha Stewart…you know, that whole incarceration thing, but I sure hope she continues her love of baking. She absolutely LOVES baking! Tonight we made a bunch of these awesome little cookie packages for some of the doc’s that Jonny calls on. They came out super cute…Piper was a huge help. Notice her awesome little cards she made! Have a great night!

An old familiar face…

June 29, 2008

well, half of a face :) My girl…my “getting oh-so big” girl.

Hi guys! I wanted to let my client’s know that I will be making these mini-sessions a permanent part of my package offerings. I had such a great response to the Father’s day sessions and for children it seems to just make sense…it’s the perfect amount of time before they get squirmy! haha So, if you or someone you know is interested in a children or family portrait session, remember that these are available to you! These work especially well if you have a play group with other mom’s that are interested as well…as we can schedule them back to back.  These only apply to children’s/family photography and do not include maternity, senior, budoir or engagement/couples sessions. Here’s the info…tell a friend! Thanks :)

Liquid vs. Electronics

June 21, 2008

In a head-to-head battle of strength and power, my newly paid-off Gateway laptop loses to a pool of liquid! Last night, while relaxing on my computer I slyly managed to smack my drink over onto my keyboard. Not 2 seconds later, you see the screen meld into a dark cloud of ebony and the power go out, much like the blackout of 2003. That pretty much sums up my life folks…haha…my history of luck!

…AND that kick starts my weekend! SWEET :) Good thing I’m a positive outlook-er! So, as I type to you from my hubby’s laptop and tell the tale of my misfortune, I will also inform you that my new laptop has been ordered and is on the way! Thank God for external hard-drive’s folks. I can’t preach it enough! BACK UP YOUR STUFF! I am so grateful for that little black box…it is a lifesaver!

Stickin’ with the PC world folks…not going Mac. As so many of you have tried to convince me of doing so…I’m ignoring your constant gloating and sticking with Bill Gates :) Toshiba, here we go. I promise to keep all liquids at least 50 feet away at all times. I promise!

Have a great weekend folks :) If you’re in my general Florida area…enjoy your rainy Saturday!

Harvard, here we come!

June 20, 2008

haha, okay…maybe not Harvard! That’s still a LONG ways off…but CHECK THIS OUT!! She did it!!! She wrote her name ALL BY HERSELF! I almost squeezed her eyeballs out, I was hugging her so hard. That is just one of those moments that makes you beam with pride as a parent. This is what having kids is all about :-)I’m so proud of her! I’m not sure if this is the right age for her to be writing her name…if it’s early or if it’s late, but all I know is that it’s a Piper milestone and I just had to blog about it. I have been working with her, teaching her each letter and then just doing them each repeatedly. Today was the first day she put them together…in order…on her own! Yippee :-) Here’s the work of art:

We love you, Piper! You smarty pants!

For Piper and so many other families out there fighting…

This weekend I headed down to the Bradenton area to spend the day with my parents in celebration of Father’s day. It was so nice to spend some time with them, even if it was only for 2 days. I miss living closer to my parents. It’s only 2 hours, but still…it’s far enough to matter.

While I was down in Bradenton, I had the awesome opportunity to photograph some extremely adorable kiddo’s! All the way from Sarasota up to St. Petersburg…I got to meet some incredible parents and little one’s and I just want to say thank you for sharing your Monday with me :-)

Here are just a few from yesterday’s sessions…

Hello everyone :-) I am happy to announce that I arrived home safe and sound from my travels to Wichita, Kansas. The trip was not without excitement, however. While there, my brother’s house had a tornado whip through his town forcing myself and his entire family of 6 into the basement. I was a little freaked. Not gonna lie. I’ll take a hurricane anyday over a tornado, at least we have enough warning to get the heck outta dodge. The hail was crazy. I have a picture on my iphone that I’ll have to post later. It was huge and much bigger than anything I’ve seen in Florida. Nuts! I love my brother and his family, but Wichita and Kansas can keep the tornado’s. No thanks!

That being said…I had an amazing time at Brent and Marisa’s wedding! It was such a lovely day and they both looked gorgeous! I mean star quality…they were fab! When I first saw Marisa in her dress, I had to gasp…she was simply breathtaking! To see the two of them together and so in love was truly an honor and I am so thrilled to have been asked to document this very special occasion.

Brent is from Australia and met Marisa while visiting Wichita. Marisa is gathering her things and relocating to live with Brent in Australia…what an awesome adventure these two will share. That is pure love! I’m so excited to hear how Marisa adjusts to living on another continent and it kinda gives me a reason to travel to Australia :-) haha

Thank you both for sharing your gorgeous day with me! It was absolutely sensational! Here are just a few from their big day:

Yee-haw…

June 11, 2008

Tomorrow morning, we are headed west to shoot the gorgeous wedding between Marisa and Brent! I’m super excited to see them and can’t wait to see all of Marisa’s plans come to fruition! See you when we return on Saturday! Wish us happy and safe travels!

Three Years :-)

June 10, 2008

I can remember so vividly this very day, three years ago. I can remember getting dressed, heading out the door, grabbing my keys, getting in my car and driving to meet the man who would become my future husband. Little did I know that I would fall so completely head-over-heels in love with the man who’s hand I was about to shake. I should have known that as we stood in the Starbuck’s line and both placed our orders simultaneously for a “Carmel Macchiato” that we were meant to be. We both looked at each other and laughed and if you listened closely enough, I’m sure you could have heard the ”Twilight Zone” music playing melodically on the Starbucks radio. haha. Jonny always jokes and says to me “You had me at Carmel Macchiato”.

This evening three year’s ago, I learned what it meant to find that guy that I had hoped to find in so many faces before, but always came up short and lacking to one degree or another. It was impossible to imagine that he existed and that somehow God had aligned our path’s so perfectly that they would actually converge. In three years time, our relationship has become utterly amazing…every moment still feeling like the first. We just fit.

I know that our wedding anniversary is coming up soon, but I couldn’t let the day of our actual meeting pass without drawing attention to its importance. I am just so over-the-moon happy to have found someone so truly incredible. To have found the man that shares my passion for cereal, GIANT cups of coffee, the snooze button, Spaceballs, cheap beer and video gaming…well, gosh…how does one measure that? haha

Bottom line, I love ya, Jonny. You are the lime in my Corona :-)
